Camp 2013
On Wednesday morning I went to camp it was so much fun. The first activity was Top Town with Mr J. We had to do lots of problem solving activities using different equipment. I really enjoyed helping my team complete the ski part of the activity. The next thing we did was kayaking with Mr Burt. I went on a kayak by myself at first I couldn’t paddle properly but Mary showed me how to paddle properly. I was really good after that and I liked it when I got to go on Mr Malloy’s boat because me , Quinlan and DJ were driving the boat first I went in the front of the boat I liked it and then we went to morning tea . When we finish we had dance practice and after we went on our netbook to write about going to camp.
On Thursday we had different activities. Our first one was called Catching and Cooking. The boys were with Whaea Raewyn. We watch her light the smoker to smoke the snapper she had. We had to plait the flax to make a fishing line. When we had finished making it long enough Whaea Raewyn tied a piece of meat onto the end of our line. We walked to the bridge to see if we could catch some eels in Omaru Creek. Eric saw an eel we were very happy for Eric. It was time for morning tea Miss Takerei tied our line to the bridge post so she could check it later to see if anything had eaten the meat.
